According to our research, Milan is the
1st province in Italy for the number of foreign students. Therefore, Milan is a home
for not only Italians but also for foreign students from all around theworld.

According to our survey done among
100 foreign university students
in Milan, a high percentage of foreign students feel homesick most of the time, and they
are trying to cope with homesickness by bringing home comforts to Milan such as cultural food.

Therefor we designed a space where
food from different cultures can be served under one roof. Considering that each culture
has its own ways of eating and cooking. Helping foreign students to feel less homesick
and get the chance to cultural exchange.

Key Point: Global Bites kitchen unit designed by me
Since the kitchen is the heart of the home, Global kitchen is a compact kitchen specifically designed for appreciating different cultures but it can be adapted into
other interiors.
Based on the research of the kitchen’s of food trucks and restaurants, it is made of MDF and covered with metal sheets to maximize the compactness, and the hygiene.
The adjustable bar gives an opportunity to socialize with your friends
while you are cooking. So the kitchen becomes a shared space.

To appreciate each culture 4 different types
of stoves are fitted in such as burner,
electric grill barbecue, cooktop extractor, electric wok and teppan yaki.

Also, all household appliances are fitted in.
